Stretching and Flexibility Exercises

Daily stretching, yoga, or Pilates to improve mobility, address spasticity, and increase range of motion. RCTs show benefits for flexibility, strength, posture, balance, and spasticity management.

How to practice

  1. 1Stretch daily, ideally several times a day
  2. 2Total of at least 10-15 minutes per day
  3. 3Focus on major muscle groups
  4. 4Hold stretches for 15-30 seconds
  5. 5Never stretch to the point of pain

Important for MS: Always consult with your healthcare provider before starting new techniques, especially if you have specific MS-related concerns. Individual responses to techniques vary, and what works for one person may need adjustment for another.
